Step 2

Think about what you would like to see happen: tests, assessments, and professional analysis. The more you ask for the better!

Example: if you think traffic at the site is a problem, you can suggest that the project’s traffic flow be examined by a professional traffic engineer

Example: if you think that Native American artifacts may be present on the site, you could suggest that the site be fully evaluated by a professional archeologist and historian specializing in Native American issues.

Step 3

Write your letter, addressed to the Saugerties Town Board. Include at least a paragraph addressing each of your concerns and what you would like to see done during the environmental assessment.

Step 4

Share your letter with us via email at info@beautifulsaugerties.com. It's important we get your letter because residents' concerns and ideas will be incorporated into a critical environmental scoping document that Catskill Mountainkeeper is preparing.

Step 5

You can bring your letter to the Public Hearing on September 21st. To have the most impact, we are encouraging you to make a 1-2 minute statement based on what you wrote. Arrive early to sign up to speak.
